Synopsis

An insightful conversation with Mr. S.R. Nathan on his inspirational journey captured in his memoir, 'An unexpected journey - Path to Presidency'.

A fascinating story of a runaway teenager living rough in a colonial port city, S.R. Nathan rose to become two-term President of a prosperous, independent Singapore. In this exceptional book he shares his personal journey set against the backdrop of modern Singapore history - both mirror each other through exceptional transformation.

The 'Conversation with President' will be an hour-long interactive discussion with Mr. Nathan where in he will touch upon his personal highs and lows, struggles & achievements and will share his reflection on leadership and challenges faced by leaders. In person too he is always open, honest, simple and warm and this is a rare opportunity to have a close interaction with him sharing his wisdom and experiences.

About the Speaker - Mr. S.R. Nathan
Sellapan Ramanathan (b. 3 July 1924, Singapore -), popularly known as S. R. Nathan, became the sixth President of Singapore on 1st September 1999. With two terms (12 years) in office, he is Singapore’s longest-serving President. Nathan previously held key positions in security, intelligence and foreign affairs, and chaired various companies and academic institutions.
